Illinois...

I have a scar on my arm from a spider bite as a kid.. it bubbled up too.. not sure what kind, the school nurse diagnose it.

My parents retired to south TX and when I would visit my mom warned me there were big tarantulas in the house.... I was taking a shower, after checking, and felt something on the side of my foot.. I looked down and one was covering the top of my foot and his feet were on either side of my foot...I squeaked and chased him around the tub with the shampoo bottle but he jumped out and got away... I thought it was better than those ginormous cockroaches I was afraid of bringing home.

Am I the only husband on here? LOL

On a lighter note...

I rudely interrupted lunch for these cuter than spiders pictures

I put my phone in there to try to get a pretty close picture and they acted like it was the end of the world and tried to hide behind the austrawhite.

Also please ignore the poorly taped cardboard. I put some on the sides with the heat lamp to try to keep the heat in a bit better for them. It was done up nicer with the first round, then hastily thrown back together for these ones. With out the cardboard the cage reads about 6 degrees cooler. Its not pretty but it is functional.

Mine are camera shy too.. looks don't matter, what works does matter... I use a heating pad instead of a lamp. https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/956958/mama-heating-pad-in-the-brooder-picture-heavy-update/450
