DE is Diatomaceous Earth.

It is used as a bug/lice/flea control. The DE will scratch the skin of insects causing them to dehydrate and die.

I used to use that in our pool filter. You can probably get a bunch cheep at a pool supply place. Just DO NOT BREATHE THAT STUFF IN!

thanks MullersLaneFarm i can never remember the actual name.

Pixie, the stuff you use in your pool is very bad if you breath. do not ever use that. the type i am talking about is food grade. it is used in all types of food eg. pancake mix. it prevents caking. it makes cleaning your coop easy and has many other good uses. this of coarse is what i gather from this forum, i have never bought any. but would like to if i could find some local. i don't want to pay for shipping.
