Illinois...

Well I committed some crimes myself. BHep had an auction for Lav Ams and since it was a mix and match, I got a couple more BBMs too. They went into the incubator yesterday. I also purchased a Little giant incubator, so I divided them, half in each incubator. Little test to see which incubator will have a better hatch rate. My little brinsea has been letting me down with hatch rates, but it might have been because I have it in my kitchen with lots of drafts from opening doors.

In case you're not tempted enough......
I have some very high quality Black & Lavender English Orpingtons & a Bielefelder trio - all hatched April 12. Purchased eggs directly from top breeders.
I also have more chickens hatching as we speak. (Easter Eggers, Orps, & Orp mixes from my own flock.)

So far 4 EEs, 3 lav orps, 1 mix, & 4 more pips.

Happy Hatch Day!

They are some Jubilees and some black mottled. I am only supposed to keep 2-3 of each. So will need to post pics for potential buyers/owners soon anyways.
I want to see them too........
...and like you, I'm supposed to be selling chicks, not buying more. Definitely an addiction.

Have you seen this video clip called The Hazards of Backyard Hens? (She explains how chickens are a "gateway livestock.")

After having them for a few years, I can fully understand. LOL

So exciting, my single cochin egg is suppose to hatch today too. So far nothing. Candled just before lockdown and had lots of movement, so still hopeful!

I will take pics when the weather is nicer over the weekend and they have settled down a little.

The video you posted is hilarious! If my family agrees to help with a farm some day, I will move to one but I highly doubt they are interested.
