Illinois...

Well things had been going okay til today. I have the garage door open because the chicks from ideal are still there. We were planning on moving them this weekend.. I heard a lot of chicken ruckus from the garage. I go out and some how the marans had her toe wrapped in the netting and the new hampshire is gone. The thing is the net is still up?? I have looked all over for her and I can't find her. I have no clue where this chicken went or how.. I've had them get out of the pool before, when the net wasn't done right or something and they are usually just kind of hanging around. Up sitting on a box or laying next to the pool.. since the door is open I checked the yard too.. But nothing. Could she have really just totally wandered off?

prayers she shows up,

Thank you @Molpet
Its just so strange. The marans was literally hanging by her toe from the netting. She is fine now that I freed her, walking around just fine. But I had to take the entire net off to get her out. So the net was in place. She was there this morning when I fed them...

I swear they are escape artist.. or into suicide like your Maran..Glad you found her quickly... I had one turkey hanging by a toe on 1/4" hardware cloth.. I was out there and hear the cries so it was hung up for a minute and was ok too.
Did she show up Yet?

@megpie021
I hope you find her!
Chickens are great at hiding. Often they stand still & stay quiet when you're looking. You may also want to look UP. Sometimes they hop into trees, on top of the coop roof, or to the neighbor's yard. If inside the garage, could she have wedged herself between some lumber, stuck under a workbench, or even hiding in a pipe? (This list comes to mind quickly because I have found chickens in all of these places. Crazy birds!)

I seriously hope you find your New Hampshire.

@Faraday40 Thank you. I looked at all the lilac bushes for that exact reason. I took a broom and was pushing them all apart, and I moved as much as I could around the garage... i spent some time standing in the garage just listening too. And now there's this storm uuuuggggghhhhhhh... I'm so worried. And of course my dad is convinced something took her. And husband is out of town...
