I purchased a bag of alfalfa pellets intended as rabbit feed. I throw in a handful into feed area, and it does get consumes slowly. Especially when there is no other greens available.
I have read on other threads that peeps serve their alfalfa like they serve fermented feed. Not sure if it gets to ferment, or just rehydrate.

I tried the cube for horses in 2016, rehydrated and fermented... they didn't like either. Just trying to do something with them now days to use them up LOL

Make sure that you have your housing for chickens before you decide to get chicks.
Many chicken frenzies begin differently. AKA letting the wagon get ahead of the horse.
What kind of chickens do you desire to get? and as pets, or other? I have pets,,,, but do eat the eggs

hey all, new here. Out in western suburbs of chicago. I will be getting my first chicks this spring. I have been researching about medicated and non medicated starter feed. Some seemed to say it matters on your location. So i'm here in the Illinois thread asking, does it matter here in upper Illinois?

im leaning towards non-medicated. thoughts?

Good luck to you and your chicks.
Based on past experience, I choose medicated. Chicks can die quickly from coccidiosis.
