Hi!! I’m not far from you! And super excited yi
My kids & I love to incubate eggs. I do not breed silkies, but I will likely have some mini silkie mixes in about 2 weeks. Daddy's a purebred silkied serama and mama's a purebred silkie. The babies look like mini silkies.

I think @chickendreams24 may breed silkies. I don't know of anyone with button quail.
oooh!! This is perfect!!!!! How much would one of those mini silkies cost?! This is awesome! What incubator do you use? Basically, if we are doing buttons, I’ll buy an incubator that’s not expensive to get the job done as we don’t plan on incubating/hatching regularly! I wish there was a way to get to the like 14 day mark on incubating that way my stress/anxiety over issues is only for two days before they’ll hatch! Alas, I must suck it up! However, when it comes to future ducks and chicks, I think having you incubate would be a dream come true!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello my friends!

Good afternoon.

I'm not sure if I updated here last night.

Mom got out of surgery last night around 8pm with her new lung.

She was of course heavily sedated and basically in a medically induced coma. She was also on a ventilator.

The next part of this information is only what I have been told as we haven't been able to go today yet.

This morning she apparently was breathing more and more over the ventilator and they started bring her around. She was pretty quickly fully awake and wanted off the ventilator. She was trying to talk and frustrated.

My future SIL left the room because they were going to take her off the ventilator. When she got back they had her standing with assistance. Breathing on her own.

And then she sat down in a chair and started talking without oxygen!!

Of course it's day by day and she's not out of the woods yet but what an amazing transformation! And show of the power of prayer!!

I am so happy for you and yours :hugs

Yup! I was more excited for someone nearby that could even possibly incubate eggs for me! I’ve had a hard time find anyone remotely close at all! @Faraday40 is super close AND will have mini silkies eeek!
My incubator is a home-made cooler-bator. It does a pretty good job. It's full for another 2 weeks. That's when the serama silkies will hatch. If you want me to try hatching some eggs, just send me a PM (private message) and we can work something out.

There are actually a good number of chicken people in the Chicagoland area.
so
:welcome
