Illinois...

I cant stop taking pictures of this guy, hes so handsome! Everyone can blame Faraday for this....she got me hooked.:gigView attachment 1798939
:love
Now you can start posing him... on a fence post, on the tractor, sunset backdrop, etc.

BTW- I've got another handsome little roo I don't know what to do with.
Any takers? Disclaimer: They're not cold hardy for our Chicago winters, so they need supplemental heat when it gets cold. Because they're small, it's easier to just bring them inside as a "house chicken" for a couple months.

We thought we'd have a living alarm clock, but our boy only crows AFTER he hears DD's alarm clock. Sleepy rooster!

That is until Jasper came to visit! Hes up at the crack of dawn!:barnie
I'll admit that the rooster duet was not always welcomed. (Jasper had the short frequent crows & Teddy had the volume.) However, Teddy went back to sleeping in about a week after Jasper left. Even this morning Teddy slept in until the 6:40 alarm. When school's out, he'll go out to sleep in the garage for the summer.

5 days together and no incidents. 5 DAYS. I come home from work to find that Jasper and Phoenix attacked the baby ducklings.

Jasp and Phee will be spending their evenings in the cat carrier now.:he:rant

Oh My!

It looks bad. Believe it or not, but I've seen worse injuries heal completely. Veterycin spray &/or Blu-kote are amazing products. Hope she gets better quickly.

On another sad note: My handyman passed away last night! He's more of a family friend and my kids even call him "Uncle Dave." I'm still in shock. He's my 1st call when I need help. He's the guy who helps me process my chickens (& turkey) - while telling me all kinds of stories about growing up down south. I can't go anywhere in the backyard without seeing something he made for us. Such a wonderful man who will be greatly missed.
