Cackle running a special for the last two weeks of January, $20 off your order of $100 or more.
Use PROMO CODE 20OFF100
Offer expires January 31st at 11:59pm.
Cool. If I weren't still trying to scale back, I'd be tempted to start a group order for those in the Chicagoland area. I'm sure it would not be hard to find 4-6 people willing to make a $20ish order. (My next addition on the wish list would probably be a bantam orpington or modern game or silver duckwing OEG...... or a sebright or ......)
OK too much wishing.

First off, woah there was a major update to the BYC site. It looks quite different on my phone now.

I came on this morning though to share a pleasant surprise. After the coldest night and heaviest snow so far this winter, I found a duck egg in the coop!
I haven't seen a duck egg since November I think. Now I am wondering if they are just laying then outside somewhere. The trend to lay outdoors, but usually right around the pond and I haven't seen any there.

The duck egg (I did have to wash it. It was previously covered in muck due to wet conditions and messy ducks.)

The duck egg along side some chicken eggs (yesterday's haul) for comparison

I have a question about rehoming some button quail in Illinois. I'm not sure whether to officially list them on the site here or to double list them on places like craigslist or offer up? The rules in the buy trade sell forum say that I'd have to pick one or the other, but I couldn't list both places at once. I have a pair that I don't have space for anymore and it's kinda time-sensitive and I can't ship. I want them to go to a good home. Does anybody know anyone who would want two button quail? They seem to be normal/cinnamon coloring.

There are a few people in the IL thread that raise quail. @BReeder! has coturnix quail. He may be willing to take them if you're in the Chicago area. I've sold chicks via Craigslist and others have used Facebook groups. Then there's FFA & 4-H kids who may be willing to take them. Good Luck!
