Illinois...

Cicadas? I haven't seen any yet.
Treating the chick for impacted crop. If "survival of the fittest" is the standard this chick is a goner. Crop is about half size this morning and chick looks more lively. I return it to its friends. Right away starts eating wood chips. Walks to food bowl (I breathe a sigh of relief) and starts selecting only the wood chips from the food bowl. This one shall receive a name, it will be known as Darwin.

Today is finally the day!! The guy helping me build my coop is coming today to go buy materials and get started. My girls will be moving out soon and not a minute too soon because they are WAY too big for their current home. I close the door in my office and lay out an old sheet to let them just "free range" outside their coop and stretch their wings a bit but they need more space all the time. I still haven't heard back from the company that I ordered the coop from about cancelling my order but I'm not that surprised.

So what internet do you all have in northern Illinois?
I don't have access to cable. I can get TMobile for$50 a month. Is that a reasonable price? That's what I pay for my TMobile phone line.

I had AOL broadband over the phone line for$29 a month. Info goes to my deceased mother's AOL email, which I hadn't checked since January. Today the internet wasn't working on the computer. I linked with my phone and checked the AOL email. They started sending notices in February that they were discontinuing the broadband. Oops

I used to have ATT DSL, until I found a better offer from Comcast. I had the low entry speed of about. 2 Mgps and was getting abused for about $57 per month for home phone, and internet. Dropped the internet, and chose VOIP as home phone option. (Magicjack)
Got entry lever deal for $20 per month from Comcast for 2 years. Now I pay $45.
My speed , I just tested is 3.6 Mgps. It is enough for what I do.
Since cable is not available to you, (Molpet) Is ATT DSL available?? It comes over regular copper telephone lines.

Maybe change the wood chips to newspaper as they wean. Then when somewhat larger, they will learn that wood chips are not food.
It could be the issues are from eating wood. :idunno Not a digestible product.

Att still says I am too far from the central router...way back in 2005 AOL was the only option.
Doesn't look much better now.... well at least cell phone works now...only 5 houses west of 80, so not worth improving service I guess

I have Comcast/Xfinity but we have the bundle that includes a whole bunch of stuff we don't need and I hate paying for. My husband is a TV junkie though and we fought for years over cutting the cord and just using streaming sites. Just as I gave up trying, he says "You know, I was thinking, should we get rid of cable since everything is on Netflix, Hulu and Disney+ anyway? A lot of people are doing that." And I said "Yes dear, what a great idea you had!" 😂 😂 😂

Have to let them think it's their idea sometimes :gig

I get TV from antenna, the internet was too slow for pictures, much less video..
Have to use the smartphone for pictures and videos.
I have the landline for the computer. Guess I can get rid of it if I go with a cell internet.... so that would be cheaper
