Illinois...

You guys are killing me!! I want more babies like crazy but I keep telling myself to wait for spring and get them from my cousin's feed store again so I don't have littles in the winter. And then I see these and am all........🤔🤔🤔
Do the leap NOW... there is enough time before cold weather sets in for your cuties to grow, and feather out sufficiently. :thumbsup

Get that brooder out! Post office surprised me and they called this afternoon. I don’t understand why USPS offers tracking if they never update it. According to them my chicks are still in Iowa! Oh well. The important thing is that I have my birds and nearly all arrived alive.

Guess whos growling at me?
Don't suppose you have any slo chicks hatching in the next week or two?😂
Awwwww. Look at that adorably grumpy face!
How come all your "non-broody" breeds go broody?

I've got plenty of "Useless bantam chicks" (with a few more seramas due to hatch next Friday) and a couple SLO eggs just sitting on my table - looking for an incubator.

I've got the 6 seramas due next Sunday, but with the delicatenature that seramas are, I'd hate to risk putting them with all those big fat clumsy orps out there. I gave her 1 lav egg last night. May need to throw some slo eggs under her. What gives? Not even the half silkie Phoenix has gone broody twice in this many months!
