Self induced headache getting ready for a 14 hour work day!

Sounds like we all just need to fast forward past today and try again tomorrow.

1st vaccine yesterday. Not bad. Shoulder is sore as if I pulled my deltoid. Otherwise all good.

The reason is taking care of watering things outside for me. I walked through the garden anyway for some fresh air and to check on things. Everything is looking good. A slow start this year with cooler than average weather many days kept early Spring plants like lettuce, kale and radishes growing slow. I should be able to harvest some in two weeks though. Works out because next week is a trip to Disney World.

Today is not too bad here. Work day was heavy in the morning but open all afternoon.

Weekend was also nice. Got errands done and found time to take the family fishing for a bit. Caught and released a bunch of blue gills yesterday.

Cannot wait for the warm weather that starts on Wednesday. Here comes the 80s!

I learned that moving your arm & shoulder around after injection will help reduce that pain. (I once was unable to move my arm for the entire next day!!)

So I threw my broody in the shower today. That's how my Monday is going. LOL!!! How's yours?

Morning was rough here too. DD is very sick and in bed.....
So DS had to do her chicken chores.....
which caused him to miss the bus.....
then he needed a ride to school.

We also had a productive weekend. My garden is tilled and I'm going back out to put stuff in the ground. Some of the grass is way too long. (DD handles the lawn care and she's been sick. )

I've got a sick puppy but thankfully no sick kids. This day needs to let up!

My understanding from reading various posts around BYC, Majority of Silkies here in the US, are bantam version. They still are a large bantam compared. In Europe, they have commonly the Large Fowl Silkies. There are a few Silkie Large Fowl breeders here in US, but not many.
Maybe your smaller Silkie is a runt

When I think of silkies I think this size below. (large bantam but smaller than a leghorn or other medium breed) Nothing should be different about the new guys..... but perhaps the little one is just a runt. I suspected it got picked on (plucked a bit) and is missing some back feathers. There was never any blood or other signs of severe bullying. Perhaps it's an odd slow, developmental thing.

Thanks. Not better yet. It's a bad cold. Typical: tired all day and too miserable at night to sleep. She's upset about missing all the fun events planned for this week, but she'll be fine. I'm trying to get done all that I can - just in case.

Put the broody in jail tonight as the rest were going to roost. She obviously wasn't happy. Well I just went to check on her and she knocked the crate off the bricks, got out and was back int he nesting box!!!! Grrrrrr!!!!!!
