Illinois...

We used to have so many bunnies nesting in my yard. It made me crazy because it makes my dogs crazy. I had 2 that wanted to eat them and one that wanted to sit on them and all 3 that made me crazy over them. How dumb are these bunnies to not smell 3 large predators??? I definitely had less last year and I don't know if it has to do with chickens or all the landscaping work we were doing. Either way, bye Felicia!!!!

Got everything planted today and I smell horrible but feel very productive! Still so much that I didn't get done today but it's the first Saturday in ages where there was no swim, track, polo or anything.

One of our Light Brahmas had a string of wet material hanging from her vent. I picked her up and it looked like she passed strands of hay. I gently pulled it out. There was a clump in the middle of whatever it was where it fattened out and then back to just a skinny stringy fibrous matter. In total it was about 8 inches long. It came out easy with just very slight resistance as the lump passed through. It smelled funky, like manure with some rot. She seems fine now. No idea what it was. Definitely not a worm. Anybody else experience something like this ever?

Looks like I have baby rabbits too.

They are lucky I was going to weed wack there. In full disclosure I was weeding my raspberry bushes and thought I was stepping on neighbors dog toy.
Step down "wheeeeee"
Wth?
Step down "wheeeee"
???
Then uncovered to investigate

But don't worry it looks like they are all fine
My dogs used them as squeaky toys

The nests were like cookie jars. Get one then go back for another... and another

Well I guess I have/had baby buns down in the bottom too. Dumped the bagger for the chickens and they were running with parts. Grass was almost knee high and I didn't see them at all. Bigger baby that should have run. I was only mowing a ft wide at a time with a 5 ft Deck because it's so juicy.
