Poor lavender BB got deflated!Poor girl. Last of the flock. She waited until November to molt and she's shivering in the 30 degree, blustery weather right now. I brought her into the garage. She'll have to share the mini serama coop for a few daysView attachment 2897463View attachment 2897464View attachment 2897466
She is just standing in the corner. Doesn't appear to be shivering anymore though.Poor lavender BB got deflated!
Is she doing a bit better in the garage?
I'm going to say wimpy....or maybe spoiled. My eastern wilds stayed out 24/7 and this one is out from the time I open to the time the sun goes down. First out, last in. Maybe they sense the impending doom of the weekend.......Tripping over turkeys today. I don't think they like the cold much. They coming running out to me (as usual) and start making all sorts of noises while looking at me expectantly. They probably want me to stop the white stuff. So far, only flurries and barely noticeable.
Everything's open but I haven't seen the chickens in the yard for a few days. Only the turkeys, but even they are spending more time inside. Is that normal or are my turkeys wimpy?

Glad you got stuff done with the last of the warm weather.Guess who finally got her coop storm windows screwed up!!
I even got the outside water turned off and blew air through the line. (OK, my hubby helped with this one as the sun went down.) Flock is mostly ready for winter now!
My to do list:
Add and plug in water heater
Process some birds and get the number down.
Once the turkeys are gone, the free ranging will end until spring.
We need to discuss this further.....Process some birds and get the number down.
