I think it is so funny when they sleep...sometimes they look dead all splayed out. My husband actually came and told me most of mine were dead one day (he's never had chickens and is a little dense about animals sometimes)! I said No, they're asleep. He said, Well they look dead to me! So of course, I had to wake them up to prove to him they weren't dead! He was so embarrassed!

They are SO cute!!! I remember when my girls were just little fluffy butts like it was yesterday! Now they're just starting to lay eggs and are just the sweetest! I love gushing over my girls too and I get the same, "are you nuts" looks from my friends/family. They don't know what they're missing!!!

Congrats on your beautiful chicks! Definitely lose sleep over them... they just aren't that little long enough!

Really? I got some Silver Sebrights from Tractor Supply this spring and those little buggers are so dang cute and hardy. They are currently in with the rest of this years other chicks (all standards and heavey's) and doing just fine. They don't put up with nothing from the bigger one. My little roo just about falls over backwards when he crows, lol.

I'm hoping to get gold next spring!
