My husband and I live in Texas.
We built a chicken coop about 2 years ago and just recently purchased 6 hens and 1 rooster.
We didn't know what we were doing when we built the coop. We built it about 3 feet off the ground and have chicken wire for 'the floor' which is covered with hay. We've since added an 'outside' fenced in area for them to get out into when we happen to be away for a few days. It is fenced on all sides and the top is covered as well. My question is, would be it be feasible to place the nesting boxes out in this area versus trying to attach them to the inside of the coop?
Thanks and looking forward to learning a lot from this forum.
