i know this is OT for this section of byc, but i feel a little closer to ya'll on the "meat birds etc" since i'm on here everyday.

we recently had a open poultry show where the 4H kids from new braunfels put it together and we had a wonderful time and i wanted to share.

my son won reserve champion in the bantam class and the cluck off contest. that's him holding the money.

Good Job! Can you tell me what a cluck off contest is? I don't know anything about chicken shows!

I do love New Braunfels, TX though. Great area.

they're suppose to be sending us the video. they taped the cluck off and hopefully, we can get it on youtube soon.

everyone put $5 in the pot and the winner got half. each contestant did their best imitation of a chicken. couple of the adults had chicken hats and feather outfits, some did hens, others did roosters. my son did his rooster imitation, crowing, scratching the ground and then did the mating dance. they thought it was too funny and he ended up winning.
