I purchased 11 BR hens and they were supposed to be around 6 months old. That was 7 weeks ago and still no eggs. I purchased 2 Ameraucanas and 1 BO about 5 weeks ago and they were supposed to be about 6 months old. I still have no eggs. I have read many posts echoing my story but dang it is hard waiting after investing all the money to build a coop/run and then buy the chickens, feeders, waterer, etc.
I have been feeding them Purina layer feed and they always have oyster shell available in a seperate feeder. I also "hang out" with them every afternoon for about 15 minutes. During that 15 mins I throw them cracked corn and we chat about our day. They don't say alot but they get the full run down of my day. Maybe they are trying to tell me to stop recanting my boring day.
I'll still keep checking everyday.....
