Yeah, I totally agree! Some of the footage we get here after a natural disaster somewhere in the world of complete strangers helping their neighbours clean up, look for missing relatives, find something to eat... it's just really heartwarming to see. I love hearing stories like that

I'm glad your mom's okay. It's always nerve-wracking when a close family member gets sick

Just take it easy for a while, I usually end up causing more trouble than help whenever I haven't had enough sleep

I need to rant here

step dad (who has been there since i was five) has been hospitalized since this morning. they just released him.

His pancreas has quit on him and his blood sugar went over 500, and they put him on medication which started to shut his kidneys down. they got his kidneys up and running again, but now he's on insulin.

he also has only 50 percent circulation in one leg and 25 in another and they said he may be looking at amputation.

because of the agent orange and other experimental things he dealt with in the military he has trouble with memory, and at times can be irrational and down right hard to deal with. he isn't dangerous, but boy does he get cranky.

I can't make him take his insulin, or eat right though I try, and that makes him resentful.


the fencing still hasn't been fixed, i have no chain saw, so removing the downed trees form the fence is not easy, coupled with my injuries from the car wreck and other health problems, it is very slow going.

at this point i feel like a drink, and a good yell.

I recommend Jack Daniels, Single Barrel if you have it. Black label will do. Or a 12 year old Scotch, Chivas or Pinch. Always makes my day a little brighter.

He's a grown man and if he chooses to be non-compliant, let him. As long as he understands that he can die if he doesn't take care of himself. You can't force him to.

I agree wholeheartedly!!!! Call in the troops! I bet if you hollered at mississippifarmboy he would be there in a heartbeat!!! Get some help girl before you end up really sick yourself! I sure wish I wasn't halfway across the country because I would come help. Love and prayers being sent your way!

ok i promise if it gets to a point i can't handle things i'll ask for help. so far i'm frustrated but I can function and the part of the fence that is down is one i can keep the horses away form easily.
