Seriously, I can't count the number of times that my Hawkeye has saved the girls from a hawk attack. I've watched him literally push several of them under a leyland cypress while raising a ruckus himself as a hawk swooped past them. Sometimes he'll duck under with them and other times he'll stand outside their hiding place big as life, making himself a target, but you can tell he's trying to make himself appear larger than his 9 lb. I know that one day I may lose a girl or Hawkeye himself to a hawk since we have many here; he's my first line of defense and I'm very proud of him. I'm glad you've decided not to throw in the towel yet.
