I'm an idiot...now I dint know what to do

I went to clean off one of my chicks pasty butt...I have never done it before, but jumped right in without looking for images on what was what with a chicks hiney....I picked off his/her umbilical stump thingy! I didn't realize until I looked a little higher when he/she pooped on me...what can I do? there's no blood, but it's very pink and looks open.

Try painting it with Iodine or applying an antibiotic ointment - one without the 'caine'.
