what a nuge! I unplugged turner in my Brinsea 40 Dx at around 8 am this morning. For those of you that aren't aware of this the turners in the brinsea tip far back and forth. So when it was even I unplugged "turner" to candle a few tester eggs ( which by the way my split lav silkies are fertile again!!!!) Well like a ding dong I forgot to plug Said turner back in before I took DD to work and went X-country skiing. Came home to see my eggs stacked a little off so I opened bator to fix and it was COLD!!!!!! I unplugged the dang bator NOT TURNER!!!!! I flipped and plugged everything back the way it should and think hmmm 5 hours on day 4 ??? Shouldnt harm them too much??? Ive never done that before and never dealt with a power outage either. I would think it was early enough in the incubation process that it wouldnt hurt too bad???? I have a fantastic batch of eggs in there and would die if I screwed this up so early in the game!!!!! Its one of those days-18 inches of snow fell last night and has had my DH out plowing for everyone because all their plow equipment and snow blowers arent working

I spent all morning digging my way to the coops-couldnt even open the doors until they were all clean

thats what I feel like today!!!

I cannot help you but that is ashame. Hope they are going to be okay for you. Sounds like something I myself would do!

Early in incubation.... I would move forward hopefully. At least, not with dread, at this point. Good luck!

Oh, and I have done the same freaking thing. I keep telling myself I should put the power cord end of the turners opposite of the power for the 'bators, so I don't do that ever again, but that would snake cords a really untidy way.... I'm thinking I am going to TAG the 'bator power cords with some colorful tape or something, at the plug end, so I know which plugs are the most critical ones.

Sorry you're having a " not so good " day .

I learned a good little philosophy from an older gentleman I used to work with . Whenever he made a terrible blunder or some minor calaminity happened , he would pause for a few seconds , then smile and say " If that's the worse mistake I make today [ or the worse thing that happens ] , its going to be a pretty good day . "

Very true very true--Nice way of looking at things. The only thing that bugs me is I paid alot of $ for these eggs and waited a while to get them :-( But it is what it is and I can only hope I get a half way descent hatch at least a few of each sex out of the breeds..
