I'm assuming this is moulting? Feathers everywhere! Need reassurance!

There are feathers everywhere and they stopped laying about 2 weeks ago which is fine for the time being! But my little ex-broody hen's tractor looks like it had a feather pillow explode!

Otherwise they are eating and pooping fine. She keeps this up she'll be naked!

Sounds like molting to me

Did you notice the feathers seeming a little pale or sun-bleached looking before the pillow exploded?

I have millies doing the same thing (right before show season, of course). I'm going to get some higher protein feed for them to help them grow those new feathers in a little faster. They'll still miss the shows, but at least they'll look a little healthier!

They both looked a bit bedraggled! It's all those tail feathers on the ground that bother me!

And just tons of the little feathers!

I will up the protein and give them more treats. That should make their mood better!

Thanks!
