I also ordered a big back of locusts for the chickens and lizards - the chickens LOVE them!

I bred one of my rabbits today, maby if i pop the female in there for afew days the babies will hatch faster. ?

It's really good to be back bayouhchica!

And... Guess what arrived today! Even better than I expected, it's even got an internal light so I can check on peeps at 4am without turning on the bedroom light!! hehe its up to temperature already and I'm having to really fight with myself to leave it overnight to make sure it's stable - I want those eggs IN!!! It fits perfectly on my bedside table too and it looks like it will be so much easier to clean than my old hova-bator. I'm so excited! I've been looking round for large rabbit cages on ebay too as putting chicks in the old dog cage just ended up with shavings ALL over.

I got my dates all worked out and if I put eggs in today/tomorrow they should be about a week old when I go to Madiera for the field trip - already got someone sorted to look after them (mothers are great!) and she even bought some water dishes for them today that attach to the bars of a cage (I think she's secretly as excited as I am!) So I should have plenty of time to handle them and stuff before I go - just hope it won't stress them too much having 'mum' suddenly dissappear for a week!

I wonder if theres something I could do with hatching eggs as a final year project...?
