In reading a thread on the "Breeding Forum", I saw the following:

I believe that eb black birds may also contain Pg or the pattern gene. If I remember correctly, black wyandottes were developed from gold laced wyandottes. Do not ask me for a reference, I have read too many papers to remember.

Could it be that Pg (pg) can mean BOTH "Partridge Gene" and "Pattern Gene" ? OR, or these the SAME GENE?

or just the same "acronym" meaning things ENTIRELY DIFFERENT?

you around a tad. It's ribeye steak, potatoes, veggies if I think of it or not.

I've also got a pot of pasta sauce going - fresh home grown maters, home grown basil, home grown garlic and some nice shallots and a couple of nice anaheim chilies.

Laura's been out of town for three days and I know she didn't get dinner - since she's been flying back from CA all day.

Meat and taters is simple enough to throw together last minute.

Claire it does take awhile to get a handle on it, and often it's best to learn only one color's variations at a time but it's actually quite interesting in the long run.

Really after you beat yourself over the head with it for a year or more it does start to make sense, promise.

Since I'm fiddling in four directions:

Delaware - Columbian/Barred
Partridge and Blue/Black/Splash Rocks
Sizzles/Silkies in BBS and what is probably black/birchen or blue/birchen
