I'm curious, What charities or gifts are you giving to this year?

All year long I put my change in a big glass jug, then at the beginning of December, I count it all up and give it to an animal shelter. It's amazing how much money it adds up to! If I continue to rescue chickens at the rate I have been lately, I may need to donate it to myself to pay for meds & feed!

This shelter is always struggling......but they are the kindest, most wonderful people to work with. I dream of winning the lottery just to take care of this place

We give to Toys 4 Tots. Our saddle club usually gives cash, and DH and I ususally fill a barrel with toys. We used to give toys to other charities but discovered that they only gave to certain neighborhoods or minorities. The Marines run Toys 4 Tots and they give to any child that needs a little help at Christmas regardless of where they live or the color of their skin. Also, some family members will get a card saying that a donation was made to the Heifer Project in their name. Chickens and instructions for their care will be given to poor people to help make them self sufficient!

We do toys for tots every year for about 9 years now. Its alot of fun!

I am donating my disney points for toys for tots. 250 points gives a kid a fluffy teddy bear.

Well said spook, all my husbands family are in need so throughout the year we have made several fair size cash gifts to them.

I give to the local food shelf throughout the year. On of my close friends works there, and says demand is way up. When I noticed the fuel prices were pushing food prices up, I made a bigger donation to the pantry, because I can. We also give to Blue Santa, and the cubscouts my kids belong to helps wrap presents for Blue Santa. This year we will also make a donation to heifer international...for chickens.
