I'm cursed with broodies! ARGH!

Watch my luck though, the one time I will REALLY need a broody I won't have one in the bunch!!

I have 3 broody hens they hatched out chicks today, but they can get pretty annoying!!

I had one hen that quit laying and started sitting on the eggs laid by the other hens. Well, she had been doing this for a couple of weeks and would get so mad at me for taking them away but I didn't want her to hatch out anymore because last year I let her have 2 clutches and wound up w/ 7 roos & just 10 girls. I had to build extra coops for all those roos! So, I decided I NEVER want to hatch out my own anymore! (Not w/ those odds) BUT, she wanted to be a momma' so bad because she's actually a loner of the group she's in with now so I bought 12 pullets at the CO-OP last Wednesday (BO's) and by Friday I had already slipped EVERY ONE OF THEM under her and now she's soooooo happy!

She's out of the nest, scratching around, teaching those babies to find food!

She is the smallest little hen but she is the best little momma!


Papparootzi and the rest of the girls don't mess with them at all!

I gave my broody twenty little meaty chicks and she is a happy and proud mama! I wish I had more broodies!

I'm hoping she will be willing to foster my laying chicks in June so they will have a mommy too.

We have 5 right now. One just hatched out a couple of days ago. One should hatch out in the next couple of days and the other three will be over the next two weeks. Each of them have at least 12 eggs. Plus we have 84 eggs in the bators and we just hatched 44 from the bators.Little fluffy butts everywhere.
