I would have lost some to the neighbors dog but I keep my birds in a run. It's still scary when a dog is standing next to your run though

Yeah they have a small run and I feel guilty because I just left them for a few minutes.

I plan on keeping my layers in a predator proof coop and run until next spring then I'll free range them a couple hours a day in a fenced yard w/ an electric fence around it.The younger they are the more vulnerable they are .Sorry for for your loss!
