Ohhh. Don't give up. I only had my call ducks here for less then a week ( and they're still not comfortable with me) when the pair of them took off. I called them all night and all morning. I even checked the woods around my house for hours and no sign. Then I came home the next afternoon and there they were. Like nothing had happened. I'm new with ducks but have faith!!!! Maybe yours will surprise you!!
