I had chickens when I was younger but always wanted ducks. Now that I have my own house I'm getting a few =]
I have a brooder all set up but when I took a trip to the only store on the island I can find that has feed I found they only have chicken or geese starter. I've read in a few places that you should add niacin to chick starter but others say just use geese starter instead. I believe the geese starter is higher in protein (around 26%) and I know too much protein can cause angel wing so I'm not sure what to do.
And I was told to switch to a lower protein food (18%) after 2 weeks. Does that sound right? And again, should I buy chick starter and add niacin or geese starter or what?
Any advice is helpful! Thanks!
