Nothing wrong with what you did, I believe a true hunter doesn't go into the woods to kill everything that walks by. I just about enjoy watching them more than killing them, but it does leafe an empty freezer. I have seen hunters with babay deer that still have the spots, they are acually proud of that. Makes me sick. I won't even kill a button head unless its an accident. I think you did great.

I will never kill a doe with fawns either. I saw someone do it once, and the babies had this horrid fear in the eyes. It was horrible. I don't hunt with that friend anymore.

The last two seasons I went out all I saw were spikes and youngsters.

They all walked.

Unfortunately, I didn't have very much time to hunt (due to work) so I had an empty freezer, but that's just the way of it.

At least if you bow hunt you get a long season, so many more chances to find the right deer I hope!


I hope I can learn to bow hunt someday, but I don't have anyone to teach me.
