Our feedstore has hundreds of chicks, ducklings, poults and goslings right now. I cant get any though! My friend is in charge there and is on my mom's side. She wont let me buy anything cause my mom said no! Its definitely a good thing,lol.

I have to keep telling myself that even if Del's DOES get their "ameraucanas" in tomorrow, I am NOT ready, NOT ready , NOT ready ... and DH says I can't have them anyway

but may spend part of the day there anyway getting my "chicken fix"

I was at tsc the other day, no chicks yet, but they did have this great big stuffed chicken, so if your not allowed to get live chicks, get the big stuffed one and sit it on the couch between you and your spouse!

T-Minus 4 days until CHICK DAYS at the local TSC. How can I stand it until Friday??????

Told DH last night in the car that I had to be there when they opened on Friday and he said "WHY??"

Like, DUH....why do you think.... it's CHICK DAYS!!!

by the way, I did notice that broody hens "talk" to their chicks while still in the egg ... might not be a bad idea to play mama-hen noises to chicks in brooder, make them feel more at home
