I'm so proud of myself......I'm on day 12 for some of the eggs and day 10 on the others. Always before I just couldn't stand it and have candled by day 7. Hopefully I'll have good results to report. This will be the first time using the projector that I got.

Some more BLRW, some of my own Marans, Araucanas, and some Buff Orps. BamaChicken.... I'm looking forward to getting my eggs from you the end of february.

My candling report from last night: These were on day 12....5 out of 14 araucana eggs are growing, 9 of 12 of my own Marans...These eggs were on day 10 yesterday; 5 out of 12 buff orps and 4 out of 14 BLRW. Not as good as I would like but these eggs all came during some very cold weather so I imagine they got pretty chilled before they got here. Most were just clear, but the BLRW had 4 or 5 that had blood rings.

Thanks, but I know that's the chance I take with shipped eggs. Now if I ever got badly wrapped eggs, then I'd be upset with a poor hatch rate. That's only happened once.

Yes.....I'm still getting eggs from several people in the next couple of months......and then in the fall too!!

I was pleasently surprised when I had that many of my own doing ok. They were laid during some very bitter cold temps and even tho I go out 2 or 3 times a day at least to get them before they freeze, I know there were some days they got pretty chilled before I got them. I hate to think how chilled the shipped ones got during their shipment. That's the way it goes tho and if I want good birds of different breeds and colors I'm willing to take the chance on shipped eggs. Now I just need to get going on those blue orps!!

Oops...I just reread your post Cyn....yes, there are still some viable eggs in the bator....just not as many as I would have hoped!
