I'm gonna get a tattoo

I've never been able to get over the cost of tats. I think it's because I hadn't found a design that I was willing to spend a lifetime with, until now. I'm not making any appointments yet, but I'd love a tat of my big, beautiful black Andalusian roo. He's dreamy.

I love tattoo's. I have a teddy bear on my chest, and a peace sign on my hip, and here in a month I am getting a Hello Kitty Holding a Chicken on my neck.....DH has one tattoo and is probably going to get another some day of a shark. I plan to get my next tattoo at the same place that I have gotten all 9 of my piercings, its a great place here in Vancouver Wa.

My hubby is a tattooer, so I have a few. Not as many as some, but a few just the same.
My first was a large scene on my lower back of 7 different tree frogs and bromiliads. Not such a good tattoo. BTW, not by the hubs.
Second was a large Petty girl on my right thigh. She goes from almost to my knee to the crease in my leg where it bends. It is from a Ridgid tool catalog and she is straddling a pipe wrench. She's cute, you can see her on my hubby's page at tattoopimp.com.
My third was on my left thigh, and is of yet, still unfinished. It's a geisha girl with a big background with glory rays and clouds. Gotta get that one finished!
My fourth was a traditional anchor on the back of my left arm (above my elbow) that says Dad. He's a boat captain and a former sailor.
My fifth was a beautiful red/yellow rose on the back of my right arm (mirroring the anchor) that says mom. I got it for her birthday.
My sixth was on my left bicept from almost elbow to shoulder, it's an interpretation of a very old traditional Sailor Jerry design. She's a mermaid holding a baby boy mermaid, but instead of sitting on the anchor she was originally on, she's on a tiger shark. When the hubby and I were in Hawaii summer before last, we went snorkeling and almost became lunch for a 15' tiger shark that was eating a dead manta ray.
my seventh was a day of the dead skull, very colorful, with spider web wings, on my right upper arm/shoulder area.

Future work? Definitely finish my geisha, it was started in 2001, right after me and hubby got married, time to knock that one out.....
Next a sleeve on my right arm that has lots of color, a kewpie doll, and probably at least one chicken.
After that, a sleeve on my left arm, more traditional, probably more sailor stuff (I was navy too).....
Oh, and tattoos for my 2 boys, but not sure what, or where!

I have 13 scattered about my body.
a piece of advice though.
IF you are going to get a tattoo be sure to check the artist, his place of buisness, get references,. ask lots and lots of health questions, ask friends aske for names of people he has tattooed. etc etc.
Cleanliness is MAJOR!

In making a decision on getting a tattoo, please decide before you get inked that it will be something you can lve with for the rest of your life, AND in a place where you can live with forever.

Tattoos are very expensive to remove if you decide 2 years down the road you cant stand to look at it.
its a major life decision , not one to be rushed into.

I have three one on my ankle with a cross and christan fish, lower back the sign of the trinity, and right shoulder/back of jap.Koi with 2 big lotuis blooms and I still after all these years love them all.husband wants me to remove them.but I'd reither remove him

I don't have any:>) My girlfreind got one a few years ago and told me they are addictive, she has a few more now. LOL So I wouldn't even dare do the first one

I just finished up my half sleeve, need to get pix. But its of three of my dogs I had when I was younger. Annabell-APBT/Boxer, Boe and Oxford-both Boston Terriers. I am going to have the rest of my sleeve done when I can afford it LoL Its going to have the rescued 'broilers' and a burning chicken house in the background.

Glenda!! LOL on your post about the hubby!

I have one tattoo on my left shoulder of 2 hummingbirds over 3 tropical flowers. It was originally 1 hummer over 1 flower that I did when I had my 10th wedding anniversary and then I had the other hummer and the other 2 flowers added after I finished the Honolulu Marathon in 2000. I stupidly let him shade it to blend with the other original tattoo and wish I hadn't but all in all I'm still happy with it. They ARE addictive, that's for sure.
Luckily my chicken addiction and of course 2 teens take most of the $$ or I'd have lots more!
