Guess what Our electricity has to be cut for 2-4 hours on Thursday. But that’s not even the best part. We have eggs in the incubator. But wait, not even the best part. ITS FREAKING HATCH DAY I’m going insane Any advice? Before I literally break something?

Can you put thick layers of towels around the incubator to keep the heat in and maybe take a warm paper towel and stick it in the incubator for the humidity.

Could you run out and pick up a battery backup from a computer supply store to help keep it running a little longer? Small generator? Or those little single-use hand warmer packets?

Add rocks to the incubator, I've heard thats supposed to help keep the heat in. Can you run and buy a generator? Does your car have a pug you can plug the bator into? Our car has an outlet like that.
Handwarmers, another good one.
That must be so frustrating lol!

Our power went out for 2 hours on hatch day too! I was a nervous wreck I just wrapped the incubator in towels and hoped for the best. It actually didn't affect anything, 11 out of 12 eggs hatched just fine (the one that didn't was a Marans so it was probably shell related) They're a little over a week old now and doing great I would be more worried if you were in the early stages of incubation, I'm sure they'll be fine!

See if someone you know has one of these. This one will jump a car, inflate a tire, run usb and regular household appliances.

Something like this with a full charge could run your incubator for days.
I keep mine fully charged and have had to use it for my computer (I work from home) a couple winter days when a storm put out our elactricity.
This one is old. New ones now are smaller and less expensive.
Good to have around for many reasons and purposes.
Years ago, my power went out and I put my hatching eggs with me in my water bed (which stayed warm for a good 12 hours). Put them back in incubator and had a good hatch.
Also if you have a grill, fireplace or even a fire ring....and a supply of water bottles. You could warm water, put in bottles wrap with towels and pack them arround and try to keep them warm.

Thank you everyone! I realized that the barn won’t lose power so we can run it out there real quick. I will try to wrap it in towels, and I’ll try rocks and wet sponges! I think it will be ok
