I'm having speech trouble and it's getting embarrasing!

I hope this doesnt sound mean....but I am so glad to hear you day that!

I do this on a daily basis and it is very embarrassing.

Today is was "get me the oatmeal. No not oatmeal. The. The. The. Cornmeal. No. THE FLOUR.

All while standing there concentrating very hard to get out what I want to say.

Or

"hand me the. the. the. thing that goes from the laptop to the outlet"
DS..."You mean the charger"
All said while looking directly at the charger.

I am certain its stress too, but its still nice to know I am not alone.

You are definitely not alone.

THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I DO! It's scary, that is precisely what I do when stress starts to get to me. I'll know exactly what I want to say, but just can't spit it out. It can be embaressing, but don't let it get to you.

My wife is always asking me to go get her that thing. I take my best guess, and usually she says "no, that other thing! You know, the ... the ... the ... that thing!"

On the other hand, being a male, I am completely incapable of spotting non-moving objects, and need to call her to find things for me in the pantry or the fridge.

I must remember to die before she does, or resign myself to a life of eating tomato juice on my cornflakes.

It must be a guy thing! Because I can tell my husband EXACTLY where something is, say a jar of pickles. "Hun, it's in the top shelf of the fridge to the right" It could be a snake, and it would have bit him square between the eyes. Mind you, the pickle jar was not hidden behind ANYTHING and the label was pointed forward, with a clear title and picture of what he was looking for. LOL

This must just be a quirk thing. LOL

ok the 3 of you having issue with speach.
I am not being mean here but something is NOT right,
what are the 3 of you taking for meds that might be the same medication?

This is not an early sign of alzhimers, this is something to be taken seriously, The reason I am saying this is the Medication I am on for seizures does the same thing , its a back firing of misfiring neurons.
the wires are not connecting properly ( yes my dr explained it to me just so)/Please Please Please speak to your dr's about this. it might be something as simple as nothing but then again it could be an early warning of something extremely serious.

Question, how many times do you have to back space to fix backward words? my anser for me is way more than I would like to admit.

I'm sure it's probably just stress, or way too much on your mind. Are you getting the proper amount of sleep? That affects a whole lot of everything. I don't think it's alzheimers.

There are many more things that signal an onset of that. In all honesty I actually thought for awhile that I was getting it. I was forgetting the most basic of things and I was only 40. LOL Then after thinking about it long and hard I figured out, at the time, I have 5kids, I homeschooled the two oldest, the middle two were in school where I had to drive them to and fro, I taught computer and art class there once a week, I had a 2yr old to take care of, 11 dogs, 13 cats, 2 peacocks, 27 chickens, 2 chinchillas, 8 rabbits, lovebirds, two fish ponds, etc not going to bed every night til 2 and getting up by 6. .....Oh and add a case of ADD in there. LOL There are so many factors that can affect our mind and all the things that are associated or controlled by it.
Good luck at the doctor's and in the mean time try not to stress too much over it. You might try taking a fish oil capsule daily too. That has helped me.

I'm guessing it is also stress. I know I am a minor, but I do this too... Sometimes I'll be talking and my voice will slur so it sounds like I just jumbled words together or sometimes I'll forget what I was going to say and it jumbles. But I also have a habit of mumbling... Kinda like what's happening to you, in a way. Hard to explain.

Don't worry, you're not going senile
