I'm having this odd issue with my eyes: anyone know what it might be?

Please see a doctor. Rule out dangerous possiblities.

It does sound like a silent migraine but also pay attention to if you are hydrating yourself. Water is vital to us. Dehydration can do odd things...
Most of us do not drink nearly enough of water, me included.

I was getting Migraine Auras also, along with almost constant migraine pain. I was sent to the pain clinic in my hospital, because the doctor wasn't sure what was causing it.

After getting an MRI of my head and neck, the auras and pain ended up being caused by Occipital Neuralgia, which is being caused by disc degeneration/arthritis/pain in my neck. It was also causing me to be nauseous most of the time and hardly able to ride in a car or drive without getting severely car sick. Now I have to get a set of 4 shots in the back of my head every 3 months to keep it all subsided. 2 on the outside of the bones behind the ears and two on the inside of those bones. They are slightly painful, but not nearly as troublesome as the auras, headaches and nausea.

I hope you find out what is causing yours.

Where has this been...I just found this thread.

I'm glad to read that you're going to the doctor. As someone said, it's better to be safe than sorry. I'm definitely no doctor, but from what I've read online, it does sound like you're having ocular migraines. Weird, but very interesting.

Let us know what the doc says...OR ELSE!

Michelle, I just posted this a.m. Thanks for commenting!

BYC is an awesome place; I thought for awhile before putting this out there, and I'm now glad I did. Maybe other folks (like gaeamama) will be helped by it. However, gaeamama - please do see an eye dr. yourself! I also worry that by posting this, if mine is nothign to worry about, other folks may think the same thing & not get checked out; that could be a bad decision, so please don't do like me & wait forever to have it looked at.

I'm always criticized by my "better half" for running to the doctor every time something ails me. He makes me so mad!!!!

This coming from a man who NEVER goes to the doctor, even when there is obviously something wrong.

There's been plenty of times that I've been thankful to have gone and found out what was the matter with me. Sometimes the most insignificant things can really be precursors to some major issues. So no one should ever procrastinate going to the doctor. I have a belief...I know my body better than anyone (other than God), so when it tells me that something's not right, it's NOT.

Kudos to you, Wynette, for sharing this experience with the rest of us. If someone reads this thread and has the same symptoms, I think the true message is delivered: GO TO THE DOCTOR!

I have tons of floaters and know them all well, so when I see one that looks different or a dark speck I immediately go to the eye Dr.

Twice now it's caused me to have to go to a retinal surgeon at warp speed- I had tears in my retina. This happened first at age 33, so I don't mess around with visual mischief. I'm already nearsighted as can be!

I also get migraines, with auras, but they're a bit different.

If you see a visual disturbance that's like flashes of light or darkness, or ESPECIALLY new or numerous floaters or a shadow that may or may not move or is like a veil going up or down, GET TO AN OPTOMETRIST/OPTHAMOLOGIST PRONTO!!!!!

Those symptoms can be of possibly permanent visual loss-causing anomalies.

Depending on your age.... When I born in 1961 they used to put these drops in your eyes at birth. Some kind of silvery substance, can't think of what it was called. I get "floaters" from time to time and that is what causes it.
