Really? Hmmm....good to know, they didn't say anything. My eyes are dilated now and I"m definitely having trouble seeing, so I'm pretending to work! Don't tell my bosses....

That's the test I had over my cotton wool spots, I think.
Required an IV to put in dye, and then I had to NOT blink at the exact moment the dye hit my eyes. Easier said than done
This is called tunnel vision. GO TO A DOCTOR NOW (never mind, I see you already did.). I get this when I'm really stressed out, and it's not really good.
Best of luck for you that it clears up.
I'm not a doctor by any means, but this kind of sounds like an ocular migraine. I get these now and then. For me they can come on either slow or fast, and most of the time go away after a fairly short time, it some times help if you can just close your eyes for a while and rest. I know they can be real scary, some times I get them so bad that I can hardly see, but again they do go away after a while and I feel fine, but for the headache that allmost alway follow, not a bad headache, but one that is just there. Anyway if this sounds like what you have, the good news is that they are harmless, but never the less scary the first few times it happen. With that said, you might what to ask a doctor about it, but I'm put money on it that it is an ocular migraine. Hope this helps
Wynette, thanks for the update on this. I'm so glad you got to a doctor right away.Good luck on the 15th. Don't stress about the upcoming tests. I've had them and the worst part is being nervous about blinking.
So the weird thing - I'd been having these "episodes" about every 2-3 weeks. After my appt. on 2/4, I had one that night at about 7 p.m. that lasted almost 20 mins. (much longer than previous ones). I just chalked it up to it being from them messing with my eyes. But then, I had ANOTHER one about 7 a.m. the next morning....another 20 minute one. Interesting. Nothing since then, so maybe both of them were due to my eyes being fussed with.
Wynette,
I'm glad to hear everything is ok for now and you are recieveing good care for whatever your condition is. You can't ignore the signs your body gives you.
I woke up Thursday morning with pains in my sholders that went into my chest. I thought for sure it was the big one. After two ambulance rides and a whole day of tests, they assured me that it wasn't my heart, and that I don't have cardio-vascular disease. Good to know but a very expensive way to find out.
I had a brother that droped dead at 38 years old from a heart attack and my father had one at 58, I'm 60 so I always thought I was a ticking time bomb. But as it turns out all is well. Can't be too careful.
Glad you're OK!
Ditto Ken above -- this sounds just like an ocular migraine. Google it and see what comes up. I first started having these just after my fourth pregnancy a couple of years ago, and get them every few months. They always catch me by surprise. I'm usually in the kitchen and suddenly notice I can't read the recipe because I have this wavery, prism-like "bar" across my field of vision. Other than that I feel fine. I have sometimes seen a connection between having one and not drinking enough water during the day. They last 15-20 minutes, and while I can function, I can't read anything (happily I've never had one while driving!). I usually have a minor headache afterward, like Ken says, but not a huge one. They're fairly common, I guess. I would've panicked the first time if a friend of mine hadn't told me about hers.
Anyway, good idea getting it checked out by a doctor just in case.
