You are allowing this stress seriously. Your home, your dinner, your schedule, your everything...LOL
You are asking for way too much input or flipping accomodations etc for everyone.
You can easily have the dinner on Christmas day so everyone can attend. This meal afterall all is about family and everyone being there and having a good time..LOL
Eat anything you want for dinner and can afford. For me, Christmas Eve with Tony's parents coming over that I am cooking---chicken parm. with baked spaghetti and hot crispy bread. YUP----Christmas Day dinner at my Mom's will be T-bones on the grill, with baked taters, brocc. casserole and some biscuits etc.
It is never about food or fighting. It is about everyone enjoying the time together. Do not let remarks bury deep, let them slide off your back. Smile and relax and have fun. People choose to enjoy themselves or not.....choose to have fun and forget the other troubles. Good luck to you.
For Thanksgiving my brother drove down from NJ to my parents in NC. He drove Wed night into Thursday (11 hr trip)
My mom was freaking thinking how could she get a turkey dinner on the table to time it with when they got in Thursday from driving etc. etc.
I said real fast, cancel Thanksgiving for Thursday, we will eat on Friday when everyone was relaxed and not dead from the drive down..LOL...no big deal.
We had a great turkey day on Friday, the day after and everyone enjoyed it. So nothing is set in stone in life. Go with the flow and have as good as a time as you can!!!!
