I'm In Rooster-Love Today...Photogenic boys

Your Delawares beat the hatchery Dels anytime, anyday! Hands down! Look at the size and barring patterns, which the hatchery Dels do NOT have or a good example of it.

BTW, how is Zane? Was he able to use his leg at all?

They're beautiful roosters! I really would love to get some Delawares eventually. We just started with chickens and we have one too many roosters right now. Anyway Delawares are on my list to get in the future. Love to look at everyone elses birds! Thanks for sharing the pictures!

man, I may have to bribe her to bring whichever boy she gets into the vet when she gets him so I can see the baby in person

and since I first got chicks back in feb I think our clients are more surprised when they come into the clinic and there aren't chicks behind the front desk even tho we are a small animal practice hehehe sooo seeing another chicken in the hospital won't surprise anyone

Whitney - I came by today with a van full of Dels and you werent' there so... it's yer own fault. I was trading a quad of the ones I am not keeping to Lana at the Feed Store... And I will have another trio or quad to sell/trade after these grow out for another month or so... And my picks of the Roos here will be for sale immediately after I get Cyns boy...

Kisses to Zane and Suede who is even more impressive and handsome in person. He's such a splendid bird.

Ponder is living the caged bird life Cyn but mostly just sucking up the attention for her wound. She spent so much time in the house as a baby this is just not upsetting her to be indoors, handfed and fussed over while she heals from the racoon bite.

While I am taking your gorgeous boys to lesser pullets, I can already see where I'm going and I really really like the breed, even if when they choose to, man they bite hard... What was my second pick is still climbing into first place - he's huge, well marked, with sound large yellow legs and terrific tail and shoulder color. He's also sweeter.

I moved out the smaller pullets with greenish legs today. Size and leg color making the first sort. None of the pullets show sprigs so that's workable. The male I parted with today was yellow legged but MANY pointed, uneven comb and smaller than I wanted to bother finishing to rear.

Did I hear about Ponder's raccoon bite? I don't remember that! Probably my deficient brain these days, so forgive me if you told me.

The Dels really can bite hard and they tug at your clothes for attention all the time. I'm glad you are seeing a good direction to go with your group, Cher. Whichever boy you get out of the three I have left will be a real looker. All three are big boys with very nice markings.

Zane is doing okay. For a couple of months, he had me worried, not crowing at all and not as perky. In the last week, he has started crowing again and seems happier.

I don't know if I put in Ponder's bite anywhere you might of read it... busy busy, but she's doing well and she thrives on attention, silly thing. I nearly ended up grabbing the coon before he let go. Pulled my hamstring running out there but he wasn't gonna win if I had anything to do with it.

A hinge on the coop door had rotted and pulled away and it hadn't shut all the way. Talk about angry making.

I thought I'd lost her but she came back in the morning and let momma scoop her up. She's such a joy. I'm glad she made it. I have high hopes. I'm collecting her eggs just in case. Her babies are sooo cute and some of those BR/PR s with the broodies are hers. Yay.

Tinker is getting bigger. I snagged a few photos more today and will post EE, Tinker and Del pics. I got a few of the first pic boy, the second says no photos... darn bird.
