I'm losing my Mozart (update: It's over, my last Pyr is gone)

The cost keeps them from being adopted along with the overly prohibitive rules they put on you. I don't say that to start a war about needed fees and such, but when you can buy a purebred puppy for less than the adoption fees, and without having to jump through their hoops, then those that are in foster care or pounds will stay there.

Also not trying to start a war, but I know what you mean. We've looked at a siamese rescue group to replace my Bekka that I lost a few years ago. We pamper all our animals, but because I do my own routine vaccinations (instead of going to the vet) they won't even consider us.

I am sooo sorry for your loss

I know what it's like, I lost my beloved cocker-poo when he was 19. I was 19 also, so he was the only dog I'd ever known and was my best friend. I'm going to be going through it again, all too soon I'm afraid with my geriatric cat. She's 18. I do hope you're finding the comfort you need among your BYC friends... so many times people don't understand what it's like to loose a beloved furry or featered family member... but I've found that BYC'ers do, and thats why I

My Gift to Jesus By Jane L. Sears
I wish someone had given little Jesus a dog as loyal and loving as mine to sleep by His manger and gaze in His eyes and adore Him for being divine.

As Our Lord grew to manhood,His own faithful dog would have followed Him all through the day while he preached to the crouds and made the sick well and knelt in the garden to pray.

It is sad to remember that Christ went away to face death alone and apart, with no tender dog following close behind to comfort its Masters heart.

And when Jesus rose on that Easter morn, how happy He would have been as His dog kissed His hand and barked its delight for the one who died for all men!

Well, the Lord has a dog now; I just sent Him mine, the old pal so dear to me. And I smile through my tears on this first day alone, knowing they're in eternity.

I'm so sorry. It's terribly hard to lose a beloved pet but they live on in your memories. I recently got two GP puppies and they are the sweetest, most laid-back puppies I've ever owned, especially to be a big dog breed. They are much more calm and gentle than my Shepherds ever thought about being. Best of luck in getting another GP when you are ready.

The man I got mine from just lets his only pair breed - whenever (yeah, I know) but...he then sells one or two and gives the rest away. I saw a flyer offering FREE GPs and went to see him. He had 5 left and asked me to take all 5. I took 2, a brother and sister. My vet says she sees some of Mr. Ray's GP puppies about every 6 months and every time he tells the people he's not going to breed the mama any more - yeah right.

So.....if he has more puppies in a couple of months I'll let you know. It would be worth it just to pay for the shipping or make a drive to MS.

So sorry to hear about your beautiful Pyr. I know what you mean about big dogs, somehow they make you feel safe, protected and loved.
