I have eight chickens, 7 hens, and two roosters one rooster is a Turken and the other. I'm not sure what it is. I'm not sure what the one hen is it is yellow, very pretty hen, she is sitting on eggs she had 14 now she's down to four, we candle them with the flashlight. It looks like two of them have something in them. I've been feeding them scratch and crumble. I don't know if this is sufficient so I'd like to know if there's something else I should be feeding my birds because I'm not getting the egg production that I feel I need my birds were born in 22 my other hands The the yellow one and the roosters were born in about May, I don't know much about chickens. I'm learning as I go so any help would be very appreciated. I have so much more to say, but I'll leave it at this. I don't know which one is the daddy to eggs? I don't know if they're even gonna hatch I'm not too sure. I have an incubator on the way. I don't know if I should take them from her or just wait it out. I hope I can get some

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.

Leave the eggs under the hen. You shouldn't be feeding scratch mixed in with their food. That's only used occasionally as a small treat. Get a bag of Flock Raiser or All Flock or chick starter crumble. The other hens in your flock should also have a container of oyster shell available to them for the production of their egg shells.

Scratch should be fed as a treat only and not mixed with or used as a permanent feed. Getting an all flock type feed with oyster shells on the side for extra calcium for your laying hens would be best for your flock.

Once the chicks hatch mom will raise them with the rest of the flock. She will keep them warm, show them where food is, and protect them from the other chickens. The babies could be from either father. If they hatch with clean or sparsely feathered necks you will know they are from the Turken.
