I'm making a free flock management system

A quick update:
Setup wizard is almost done. I'll be needing some testers soon to give me your opinion on how easy it is to understand, etc.

One of my main problems is figuring out how to describe exactly what piece of information I need at a particular time in the wizard. For example:
fm3.png

and:
fm4.png

and:
fm5.png

Confusing, eh?

Can anyone really understand what information they are supposed to enter?

I volunteer as a tester, maybe instead of number of adult chickens, just adult chickens, chicks. or No. Hens, No. Roosters and No. Chicks. my confusin is NBII and NBUB ?
Its nice to know if there is a rooster in the coop or not.

Good observation!

The number of chickens question on the coops page is just to make things easier for me later on. My plan is to cover details about the adult section of the flock another page of the setup wizard (starting on that page today). There, you will be able to enter the number of chicks, hens, and roosters in each coop. Make sense?

Number of different Breeds of eggs In Incubator, and Number of different Breeds of eggs Under Broody hen, respectively.

I'm using those abbreviations until I (or someone else who's good at words

) can figure out what to put.

Makes sense,NBII = Number of Breeds, NBUB=Breeds Under Hen, or just Breeds would work, but as short hand, now that i know what you mean it works, an Idea for when you get that far, is a place to put the code that you print on the eggs: example Mille Fluer Cochin = MFC, that for some reason is the hardest for me to keep track of.

I might suggest, since I use egg turners in my cabinet hatcher, perhaps a way of documenting each egg in each row of each of the turners? Right now I just use pencil and put a breed abbreviation and the 3 letter code for the source of the eggs right on the egg itself. Some type of a chart would be very useful in your software, at least I think so.
