I didn't read every post in this thread, so please forgive me if this has been mentioned already...

I like the idea of a web-based system, but I also like it if I could have the database saved on my own hard drive too. Remember when that one photo website (goecites - can't remember the name) went down and folks couldn't get access to their family pictures? That's the only thing I'm afraid of - losing your entire flock history incase the website went out completely - I guess I'm a bit of a worry wart, can you tell?

Perhaps if there's a "backup" option then I'd love having the web version as the main way to access the software, especially through your phone! That would be cool!

I think a compromise would be the ability to export the data to excel or something like that.

BTW, in the almost 14 years I've been building and managing websites I haven't had a single one go the way of geocities.

will we be able to add pic's, and will there be a printable sheet, that has pedigree, pic, NPIP number (WI certified), Name, ID, breeder name etc....... I need to be able to get my info, have it off line, my Internet is very limited

I filled out the survey earlier this week. Just read through the entire thread and am thrilled to hear it may be a part of BYC!

LOVE the idea of putting bird info once and it following through the program, exactly how I was hoping it would work.

I'm sure if this is being design to work on BYC mac vs PC usage will not be an issue but if you need any mac testers I'd be happy to volunteer, I have both a mac, PC and iphone (2 of them actually). Not related to this software but would love to see a mobile version of BYC. Using safari is fine most of the time but I do need to resize screens often so a mobile version would ROCK!

A fall release would be fantastic, give me time over the freezing cold OH winter to get all the data input and be ready come spring breeding season!

I have seen several posts mention of including different breeds, one I don't think I saw mentioned was peafowl. Would LOVE to see peafowl included too!
