Oh yes they had been in Germany and Nepal and some other places I had never heard of and he just went on and on about their vacation and the amazing things they had seen. After he finished he ask so what's new with you. I proudly said " we got 3 eggs this morning" Out came those notebooks.

I wish mine would eat flies. I don't know if they don't see them or don't like them. Can't say I blame them though cuz I hate flies too.

Meanwhile, Licorice is constantly yakking at me, and trying to kill me by squatting in front of me all the time. I found if I "pat" her butt, just above her tail on her back, she will stop screeching and squatting at me for awhile.

My friend told me that when the pullets squat like that to give them a good scratch and rub. I thought she was crazy, but they seem to like it. Then they run off afterwards. Maybe to smoke a cig?

I agree! I have 4 of them and the most I've gotten in 1 day is 3, but for some reason both my blue eggers stopped laying, then one started back up, but most days I'm luck

Sooo pretty! I think some of these ladies are trophy chickens and think they're too pretty to produce. That tiny egg is adorable. Are you going to keep it? I have a giant egg in my fridge right now, it'd def a double yolk, but I'm hoping it has 3, it's reallllly big! And I just realized something. Is it possible that when a hen/pullet lays a double yolk that they not lay the next day b/c they don't have a yolk that is ready? If so it may explain some of my ladies and their intermittent laying.
 
Oh, and I took a good look at my bantam last night. Her comb is pink now so she's done laying for a while. Hopefully she'll pick back up in the spring. I guess she's just really sensitive to the change of seasons.
 
So I thought I had gotten the broodys under control, but we all know you can't control the girls..Lol
Hubs pulled the empty Rubbermaid tub down from the stand-up freezer and it wasn't empty.....She's got 9 eggs under her. I put some hay under her and her eggs and put the tub back on the freezer...:confused::lau
