a friend gave me a few eggs to hatch out, looks like only one is going to hatch. little guy is about 3 days old. i've got 12 chicks, barreds and sexlinks right now too, i gave them guinea chick some chick starter. will that work for now?? mine also looks just like the pics, what variety of guinea are these. first timer guinea person too

Mine are Pearl Grey's.. The problem with chick starter is the protein content. It is to low.. They really like a higher content food like Game Starter or Turkey Starter.

My chick starter is 16% & my turkey starter is 30%. I use medicated starters..

The guy I got them from was using a chick starter. He hatches several hundred keets a year. He told me to use the same thing. For what that's worth..

I took the advice of the people in this forum & changed feeds & the keets are doing much better. My Production Red chicks are eating the higher protein food & are doing great also.
