Chicken: A medium-sized, flightless bird-like creature invented by one Dr. H. Sanders through an early gene splicing technique that used recombinant DNA to produce a dinosaur/alien hybrid. This creature is capable of phenomenal feats of agility and problem-solving, including crossing roads and coming in out of the rain. The chicken, pronounced, <shik' ah'> in some areas, has since proven controversial because it is capable of producing copious amounts of breakfast food and organic fertilizer. Another oft-cited problem is its irresistable fuzz-bottomed offspring, which have been known to produce a manic syndrome known as hatchaholism among certain susceptible human populations. Some chickens, including the notorious Silkie breed, retain a substantial degree of hostility toward humankind and hope to eventually destroy life on earth as we know it and return to their alien homeworld.
