That's the problem chicks don't bounce. It's best if children just sit quietly on the floor and let chicks climb into their lap if so inclined.
Chicks are very fragile - if they get squeezed or dropped or thrown into the air(to see if they fly, they don't,) they can end up dying. No fun for the chick at all.
