I'm new to chickens and my baby is really badly pecked

lol . I am probably the most
"just a chicken" sort of guy you will ever meet.. but I do have a heart..

do not fall into the mind set that chickens have the same emotions as humans do..
one might feel lost if separated from the flock, but the flock doesn't give a rip if that chicken is missing.
all a chicken worries about is where the next bug is to eat, or when is dinner time ? beyond that, there is little emotion.
so don't inflict humans' emotions upon your animals..

You can see how they treat her. If she has blood on her head still they may peck at her themselves. If not then they may be alright together.
I'm not going to leave her with them, I just didn't know if it would help her to see them since she has been so isolated. I wasn't even going to put her down outside, just hold her while we are in the yard with the other pullets.

Thank you. I am a cat and dog person, and I have very emotional and moody pets, so this chicken thing is all new to me. I appreciate your guidance.

Once she is eating her chick starter and drinking well on her own. You may want to take a kennel/crate and set it up where she is near the youngsters (or in the youngsters pen) as soon as possible. This lets everyone remain familiar with her while she is healing. If her scabs are still fairly fresh looking when you put her near the flocks, apply some Blu Kote first, let it dry, then apply your Vetericyn. This will help hide the redness.

Offer her some poultry vitamins and wet chick starter. Chopped hard boiled egg or tuna make a nice treat for injured birds, just make a source of poultry grit (crushed granite) available.

I don't think anyone is meaning any harm or trying to make you feel bad. Forums are all about opinions, tips and advice - much of it is from experience. You can take what you feel applies to you and leave the rest.
