Hi Can anyone help? I am new to this and have a very ill boy.

I have a 16 week pekin cockrell, who went very quiet and still about an hour ago in their field, he has been sitting still, and is fluffed up, and if you go up to him he doesn't move and has his eyes closes, as if he is asleep.

I have moved him inside and put him under a heat lamp in case he is very cold, buit don't know what else i can do for him.

The other chickens are all moving about ok as normal.

Does anyone have any ideas????
Thanks

I don't know anything about ducks. You may want to repost in the Emergency thread with a title that mentions ducks. Something like Sick Duck need help Please. There are lots of great duck keepers here that might be able to help. It is helpful if you answer the questions in the link. Good luck

Sorry to hear about your duck, I agree with Imp. Somebody will be able to help you in the emergency section. Good luck!

Hi! About your cock, I would listen to Imp. It's rather hard sometimes to diagnose chicken maladies since so many of them have "lethargy" or "unthriftiness" as their main symptoms.

Is it possible he was attacked by a wild animal or dog?

Regardless, I hope you find a way to help him, poor guy!

from Ohio. Sorry to hear about your duck. You said you brought him inside under the heat. Has it helped any? Have you looked for wounds? Is he eating, drinking, pooping at all? What feed has he been eating? Have you tried any treats, greens, tomatoes, yogurt, oatmeal, ect, ect, ect. Sorry for all the questions, but it is necessary to get all the facts we can when there isn't any obvious reasons. Could he have eaten something in the field? I am hoping he just got chilled.
