well i go for space for mine in case i cant have them out for a day, and decide to breed in that cage, so i go with the cheapest and easiest i have found and tried that found available. stackable miller petlodge little giant, wire rabbit hutches. four high stackable cage kits of 30 x 36 x 16. id prefer if they commercially made them the ideal 40 x 40 x 20, but well these are pretty close at least. they will fit comfortably a nest in each back corner (each female needs two nests for optimal breeding if thats what you want), bricks for perching and wearing nails down, perches, use as kit and fly boxes, and best and lightest ease of cleaning ive tried. if flying birds, start with six birds as best small kit to start as found in differant fliers, as then can watch out for hawks for each other better, and provide best amusement of arial amusement. for good coop for young six bird kit to train and strengthen wings use something size of small closet with grated bottom.
id have to say i am currently enjoying my parlor tumblers the best, though the adults do best in 20 inch high cages otherwise they climb up and tumble all over the place, and mess themselves up doing so, so need to be taken out to soft surface to be able to jump/fly up and go into tumble as try to fly. they are so curious and friendly though and active all around, and interesting to observe with their inhanced unique condition that makes them tumble when over excited. good thesis pet to do research on. only thing is them not being able to fly once matured, if that is one thing you like, as i do, but i also have my flying flights for that.
